William Howard Englert: November 23, 1933 - November 10, 2023; Age 89
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of William H. Englert, of Munhall, PA, who peacefully passed away, surrounded by his loving family, on November 10, 2023, just a few weeks before his 90th birthday. Born on Thanksgiving Day, he was the second son of eight children to the late Carl C., Sr. and Helen A. (Campbell) Englert. He is survived by his younger sister, Joanne S. Dorrier; and younger brother, Charles J. Englert. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Carl C. "Red," Jr., Donald E., Carol Ann Graf, Sarah M. Hall, and Joyce L. Englert. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 67 years, Janet (Kohut) Englert; and devoted daughters, Michelle M. Englert and Maureen E. (Jeffrey) McAdoo. He was the adoring "Pap" to Sean W. McAdoo (fiancée, Kaitlynn Grimes) and Caroline E. McAdoo; and is also survived by many in-laws, nieces and nephews. He followed his father into the Ironworkers Local #3, along with his two brothers, Red and Donny. He proudly served with the U.S. Army. When driving throughout the tri-state area, the words "I worked on that!" always entered into the conversation with pride as he passed buildings and bridges. He enjoyed stream fishing with all of his brothers in their multiple "honey holes," always bringing home their limit to enjoy a most delicious fried fish dinner prepared by Janet. After retiring, he was an avid golfer with the GCU Men's Golf League, enjoying many outings trying to outscore his fellow competitors. He took pride in his yard and his cars - especially his Buick, which he kept immaculate. He could take anything apart and then put it back together even better than when he started.
In blessed repose grant O Lord, eternal rest to the soul of your departed servant William, and remember him forever!

Laura Gloria (Messineo) Monahan: October 13, 1923 - November 23, 2023; Age 100
Our dear mother, Laura G. Monahan, sadly passed away on November 23, 2023. She lived an amazing 100 years and all who knew her were touched by her love, strength, kindness, and grace. She was fiercely proud of her Italian heritage as a second generation American, the daughter of Philip Messineo and Marie Salvaggio, who immigrated from Italy in the early 1900’s. She was a 1941 graduate of Taylor Allderdice High School in Pittsburgh, PA. She married the love of her life, William J. Monahan on March 5, 1946; he tragically passed on March 4, 1968; she never remarried, devoting her entire life to him and their four children, Diane Turf, Gary Monahan, Pamela Kamensky, and Robert Monahan. She lived in Pittsburgh her entire life and was a single mother at a time when that was very uncommon. With her deep love of family and determination to raise and provide for her family on her own, she started working in 1968 as a teller for Melon Bank and then in customer service for twenty years with USS/Carnegie Gas, until she retired in 1998. She then worked part-time at the Jewish Community Center of Pittsburgh until she fully retired in 2012. She is survived by her four children and their families, her ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. They were the center of her life and are forever grateful for her love, courage, and devotion to family through the many challenges, joys, and family gatherings. She was a genuine and loving matriarch for her family, and she will be forever in our hearts.
In blessed repose grant O Lord, eternal rest to the soul of your departed servant Laura, and remember her forever!
